Basic Principles of Surveying
The Manitoba Chapter of CPWA is pleased to offer the following course being offered in conjunction with the AMM Public Work Trade Show at the Winnipeg Convention Center (registration separately)
In the course, we explain what surveying is, what are the different purposes of surveying, the various principles of surveying, the different uses of surveying, types of surveying, contracting of surveying so much more:
- Survey types, formats
- Goals of Survey
- Problems in data accuracy/precision
- Quick discussion on drones, Legal Survey, other types not fully covered in this seminar
- Common datums and coordinate systems and why they matter
- Ditching or grading with lasers, set up and common issues
- Survey procurement and tendering standards and guidelines

AMM’s Municipal Trade Show provides your municipalities’ Public Works personnel the opportunity to meet representatives of companies and organizations whose products and services are their work’s focus.
Registration fee is $75 plus GST per registrant and is applicable to PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYEES ONLY.
